To assist you with maintaining your landscaping, we've prepared a simple calendar to guide you on what you should be doing each month to assure a beautiful yard.
Check back often, as we may make changes to this calendar.
JANUARY AND FEBRUARY
Conduct winter watering bi-weekly
MARCH
Spray deciduous and evergreen trees for borers such as pine tip moth.
Prune out damaged branches on Junipers likely damaged from voles.
Apply pre-emergent to bed areas
Continue winter watering
Prune roses
APRIL
Lawn mowing begins
Apply crabgrass preventative and herbicides for dandelions
Aerate & Fertilize lawn in this order
Apply Rose Feed
Remove tree wrap
Turn-on, inspect, and adjust sprinkler system
Add mulch to beds where needed
Conduct spring cleanup and remove leaves, needles and debris from all landscape areas.
MAY
Plant annuals-We recommend sometime after Mother’s Day
Apply fertilizer to trees, shrubs and perennials
Apply preventative fire blight spray to Pears, Crabs, Ash, Apple and Pyracantha.
JUNE
Apply lawn Fertilizer
Apply Rose Fertilizer
Inspect trees and shrubs for pests (mountain pine beetle)
Inspect and adjust sprinkler system as needed
JULY
Check lawn for fungus
Prune shrubs when flowering is completed
Inspect and adjust sprinkler system as needed
Inspect all trees and shrubs for insect pests
Prune Maples, Birch, Lilacs, Viburnum, Forsythias, etc.
Dead head annuals & perennials as needed
AUGUST
Dead head annuals & perennials as needed
Inspect and adjust sprinkler system as needed
Apply Rose Fertilizer
SEPTEMBER
Dead head annuals & perennials as needed
Inspect and adjust sprinkler system as needed
Aerate & Fertilize lawn in this order
OCTOBER
Prune and cut back perennials
Winterize sprinkler system
Turf mowing generally ends.
Plant bulbs like daffodils and tulips for spring bloom
NOVEMBER
Apply tree wrap
Remove annuals and plant Pansies
Conduct a fall cleanup and remove leaves and debris from all landscape areas
Mulch perennials and roses
Winterize sprinkler system (if not completed in October)
